Willie Drone was born in 1967 in Kansas City, MO, a second-generation preacher with 6 sisters. Willie grew up in the church and at 7 years old; he sat on his dad’s lap and asked him, “Daddy why did you stop preaching?” He stated to his son that he just hadn’t had any recent engagements; Willie responded by saying, “If you don’t preach, I’m going to preach!” At the ripe young age of 11 he gave his life to the Lord.
During a very traumatic time in his life his mother was shot and killed at age 14, as he watched her die his life changed dramatically. At this point he began to really seek God, and was filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit six months later. At 18 he joined the navy. It was at that point that he felt the call to the ministry. In March 1999 while living in Southern California Willie got involved in a powerful youth ministry that focused primarily on lives being transformed through biblical discipleship. In June 1999, Willie was asked to be the worship leader for “Friday Night Live” at the L.A. Dream Center. In August 1999, he left job in the marketplace, to go into full-time ministry. That same year he moved to Arizona to expand the ministry he was involved in with ministering to youth and families. While living in Scottsdale AZ he served in the role of a Senior Pastorate of a church. He is a Pastor, Worship Leader and a Teacher.
He is an ordained Senior Chaplain, affiliated with the International Fellowship of Chaplains. As a resource, he is currently involved with Kingdom Connections, an organization that helps para-churches and leaders connect with resources to grow their ministries.
In 2003 Willie married his beloved wife Leisha Drone. Together they have a son, Samuel and a daughter, Elysia. Together in ministry they are force to be reckoned with, for Leisha too shares the same passion for the lost, to see people set free and delivered.
Recently Willie was asked to help a struggling church because the leader had some challenges that needed to be immediately addressed. For a month he and his wife served as interim pastors for a church in Mesa AZ. It was in that moment that Willie had an epiphany that confirmed the next dimension in his life to plant churches. Through a series of divine connections the Lord spoke to Willie’s heart to plant a church in Casa Grande AZ.
Today Willie and Leisha serve as Servant Lead Pastors of Kings Way Worship Center in Casa Grande AZ. The vision is to reach the scattered, the battered, the afflicted and addicted, the broken and the bruised with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, teaching, love and serving.
The mission statement is “Changing Lives…One life at a time and making a mark that can not be erased”. Willie and Leisha believe that God has sent them to Casa Grande to be a catalyst for change and community transformation. They believe that the “Best Is Yet To Come”.
